At ForestKids International Preschool, we believe that every child is strong, resourceful, and connected. Children come into the world with a natural curiosity and an inherent desire to explore, understand, and communicate. Our role is to support their unique learning journey, respect their individuality, and nurture their independence, confidence, and emotional expression. Every child has their own rhythm, their own voice, and their own way of making sense of the world.
For us, nature is not an extra activity — it is the foundation of our learning environment. Through the Forest School approach, children develop resilience, confidence, problem-solving skills, and physical strength by engaging with the natural world. Belgrad Forest, our garden, and our outdoor learning spaces allow children to move freely, observe, explore, and learn through real experiences. With the right clothing, we spend time outdoors every day in all weather conditions, as nature provides endless opportunities to grow.
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we value the “hundred languages of children” — the countless ways children express their ideas, emotions, and understanding. Our educators act as guides who observe, listen, document, and design environments that reflect children’s interests and curiosities. Project-based learning encourages children to research, create, collaborate, and drive their own learning processes. In this approach, relationships, environment, and expression form the foundation of high-quality early childhood education.
We integrate the Cambridge Early Years Program with our nature-based and play-based approach to ensure a well-rounded early learning experience. English is not taught as a standalone lesson; it is naturally woven into everyday interactions. Children learn the language through play, communication, and meaningful real-life situations. This holistic approach supports cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development in harmony.
ForestKids has a full-time Pedagogista who supports emotional expression, self-regulation, empathy, communication, and peer relationships. This expert works closely with teachers to understand each child’s learning style, needs, and developmental goals. By creating a safe and nurturing environment, we ensure that children feel valued, supported, and empowered. ForestKids is not just a school — it is a second home where children truly belong.
